I found this out when trying to calculate how long it would take to drive from Tunis, Tunisia to Fez, Morraco using google maps. Apparently if you want to get there by car, you have to take a ferry up to spain and then another back down to Morraco! Overall it adds like 12 hours to the journey! One of the many things I've learned about while writing this story. Just thought it was intresting and would share.

There's some pretty interesting WWII history in the North African Campaign, the Operation Torch Landings, and the Allied victory at El Alamein.

AKA, modern day Carthage. It's probably the only reason I even know about the existence of Tunis/Tunisia.

if you haven't, read the book Brazen Chariots. It is a phenomenal read about the tank battles in Northern Africa written firsthand by a tank commander. Can't remember the guys name but he is an excellent writer.
